Howard Hughes Estate
The transformation of this historic residential site was thoughtfully designed to maintain its vintage essence. The glamorous for old hollywood residence, designed by architect Roland E. Coate, Sr. in 1926 was modeled after Spanish-Californian Haciendas. Emmerson preserves the living room style so that it is a showcase for Howard Hughes and his wife’s love for midcentury design, with a vintage Edward Wormley gondola. Another room is furnished with a custom walnut wood round table placed on top of a vintage Turkish rug. Above it hangs an Italian 1960s chandelier that was bought at an auction in London. Around the table are an eclectic mix of leather seats on vintage chairs. The kitchen is now adorned with Reza Feiz bar stools and vintage brass and glass lights, while the dining room holds a marble table surrounded with Panton Acrylic fiberglass multi colored 1960s chairs. The exterior courthouse received a cozy transformation with an added fireplace.
